Changing Change

So the best candidate won, and I'm saying this even though I voted for McCain. But whether the best party won, and whether or not the best policies are going to be put into place is debatable. The truth of the matter is that everyone should relax a little bit. Because whether or not you liked what Obama promised; he won't follow through on a lot. So we don't really know if things will get better or worse until decisions are made. Decisions that we don't know are going to be made. You got to give Obama credit though. I mean wow this guy is an amazing politician. He got elected on basically no experience; he doesn't have a powerful family; he is a minority; he beat Hillary Clinton in a primary- IN A PRIMARY; and to top it off he did it by raising the most money ever for a politician while not accepting donations from lobbyists.

During the next four years I think human capital will go up more during his administration than economic capital, but other than that I'm not too sure. He may very well not raise taxes-he can change his mind. In other words he can change on his change. Would not changing be equal to more of the same? I think that that is kind of funny, but that's just me I guess. I mean Bush made promises that he didn't keep and so have most politicians in one way or another. Therefore, Bush said that he wouldn't change and what did he do but go and change things. Also, there are many things that are out of Obama's control; foreign attacks for instance. Israel attacking Iran which will probably happen before he gets in if it happens, or even the dollar collapsing. Some stimuli are uncontrollable. What do you guys think will happen during his Presidency?

What'll happen is he'll probably focus more on the economic end than the social end. I'm just glad he clarified in June that he wasn't interested in reinstating any Fairness Doctrine. There's really not much he can do until July except for executive orders.

Whether or not he keeps his promise for change is entirely up to us. We have to play the watchdog role that we played during the Bush and Clinton administrations and keep Obama honest. He is already being described as a "different man" by the media when he speaks and it may indicate a change in rhetoric.
